PSL Services
- assessment of a child's communication development and interaction skills
- a treatment plan and referrals which are discussed with the
parent(s) - speech and language workshops and training programs for parents and other caregivers
- consultation with caregivers, such as childcare centres, Ontario Early Years Centres, nurseries and parks and recreation programs
- speech and language therapy, mainly in groups or individually when appropriate
- rechecks to follow your child's progress and to monitor other services provided
- referral to a wide range of child and family services in the community
- support and information sessions for the community
- a transition plan prior to starting school that will include sharing information with parental permission about the child's ongoing service needs with the School Board
Who can receive these services?
The Preschool Speech and Language Program services are available to families who:
- live in Toronto
- have a child from birth to entry into senior kindergarten
- are concerned about their child's speech and/or language development
- have a child that has been diagnosed with a developmental delay or disorder
*OHIP is not required.
